I feel like Afghanistan would be an impossible place for me to live in. I like all of my freedoms that i have and the people in Afghanistan dont have those same ones as i do. If i was to live there then i would probably kill myself before anyone else does. I also think it would be allright to live there because i would have a chance to help someone elses life to become better. The people there dont know what it is like to live in freedom so if i could go over there and show them what it's like then they might rise above the power and become more like the Us. Also if they stopped all of the slavery stuff that might stop so of the little civil attacks with in the country.-Kevin Marshall
Kevin--I agree it would be a very difficult place to live--but I also know that the Afghanis are a very, very, very tough people, who have endured hundreds, if not thousands of years of war. Nobody in history has ever conquered them! It reminds me of Vietnam--another country who has been invaded many times over the course of their thousands of years of history--and never ultimately defeated! These people are tough! There is also a great movie called The Man Who Would Be King--which is about two Brits in the old days who are trying to become Princes in a country like Afghanistan. Rent it some time....
I use to think that were I was from was very tough and hard to survive, but after reading and hearing about the events that take place everyday in Afghanistan, Richmond is heaven!Living there would be so hard and streesful. Never at peace, and always staying alert for dangers would eventually tare me apart. The difficulty of living in Afghanistan is very hard. You are never safe and never know when there is a life threating act is going to happen. I have came to conclusion that I wouldnt make it living in Afghanistan.
I just read the article on the Taliban suicide bomber. In the article it said that the Taliban planned to increase the amount of suicide bombings this year to, "undermine the faith of Afghans in the ability of their government to provide security and sap support in the West for the continued presence of international troops in the country." Living in Afghanistan would be hard, especially for those that don't agree with the belief's of the Taliban. Many people are being sacrificed for things that are out of their control.

I've seen and been in some pretty rough places in my 18 years of living, but never did i know for a fact someone would bomb the entire neighborhood or set off land mines either. I notice in Afghanistan something wild is always happening where groups of people are being killed at one time. Where I'm from, usually it is one or two people who get killed at most, never groups. For this reason i don't think i would be able to make it in Afghanistan because you never know when a random person is going to bomb you or an area around you, or just take off shooting guns. I think Death in their country is starting to become common because you never know when something extreme will happen but you know it is coming.

Life there is not at all understandable by any of us. The pain that they go through having their homes destroyed on a daily basis is unbearable. I would not be able to live knowing that my country is bleeding as much as I. The worst thing is that their is so little hope. Their country is stuck in a battle that has little hope of ending. My heart goes out for afghanistan and other countries stuck in a similar situation because there is no way I could make it there. -JM
The rising prices of food is becoming a serious problem in Afghanistan. With prices rising, many Afganis in poverty are facing a crisis as they cannot afford food. This is causing them to become malnurished and this is especially a problem among the Afghani youth and pregnant women as they are now lacking the essential nutrients needed for life.
